Going from a 2.5 hour block to an 8 am sacrament meeting and 6 am Stake Priesthood Leadership meeting. Ouch!

    I feel for you, dude.

One of my Nibley or Madsen (not sure which, but i know it’s one of them) books has a criticism of the way the Mormon church frequently gets taken over by “the cult of the early riser”. I’m gonna have to go and look it up for you sometime in the next couple days.

My husband can relate (he’s a counselor in the bishopric). Every Sunday he’s at church by 6am as well for meetings. You men have my sympathy!

Just to be clear that I’m not getting some unnecessary sympathy, that’s not my schedule but the brother’s to whom I linked.

I’m almost as bad with a 1 – 4 pm block schedule. (Okay, maybe not as bad but my least favorite slot, with sacrament meeting last so the kids are real fun to handle).

    David B –

BTW, please find and share that quote.

Did you have a 2.5 hour block in White Oak? If so, the church is truer in Maryland after all.

    Chris,

No, as I was trying to clarify above, this wasn’t my schedule.

The White Oak ward is still the truer church but it was 3 hour block locked in at 9 am forever. The other ward refuses to make the yearly switch, which was fine with me.
