Dissent can be good or bad, it’s nothing by itself but depends on the ideas behind it. My problem is those who fetishize it and think their protests and emotional venting is worthy regardless what ideas (or lack of) fuel their dissent.

So I agree it was a good thing the Founders dissented (even more so Sawyer) but it’s always depends on the circumstances. I hope Republicans don’t get caught up in Obama Derangement Syndrome but fight him hard on the issues.

Good point. New Orleans and Louisiana were run so horribly by Republicans at the time of Katrina.
