“Michelle Obama serves food to D.C. poor and homeless, but…”

The writer of that article is completley out-of-touch, unlike Mrs. Obama. What is your point in posting these stories so obviously biased against the Obamas? Oh yes, that’s right, they are socialists and scum of the earth. O_o

What is the point here? All First Ladies do stuff like this. Who cares who the guy with the camera is? I would like to know how many of us — LDS — do this…at all… ever. Our Elders Quorum recently prepared a meal for a homeless and battered women’s shelter. It’s the first time I can remember anyone in our stake doing something like this in 30 years.

Please don’t be so quick to find offense. Where was the dig at the First Lady?

I thought it was amusing that someone at a soup kitchen had a cell phone with a camera. Surely, there are many out there with many desperate problems but as bad some have it, the American poor are much better off than many others around the world.

In my experience, it hasn’t been that rare for my wards to do similar things. But don’t feel like you need to be compelled by your ward do service. I’m sure our wards and stakes are burdened enough to do all the many good things they do to have to schedule service projects to your liking. I imagine you are free to do some on your own. It doesn’t have to be an “official” LDS project to be worthy service.
