They told me if I voted Republican the new President would constantly be invoking Jesus, and they were right!

As president, Barack Obama has mentioned Jesus Christ in a number of high-profile public speeches — something his predecessor George W. Bush rarely did in such settings, even though Bush’s Christian faith was at the core of his political identity . . .

Obama’s invocation of the Christian Messiah is more overt than Americans heard in the public rhetoric of Bush in his time in the White House — even though Bush’s victories were powered in part by evangelical voters.

Good to see that Don isn’t being cynical about it.

I saw this earlier on Politico. We liberals are just more righteous.

You do what you have to do when you’ve got people like Frank Gaffney claiming that you’re a closeted Muslim.

That’s fine but the politics of it all is crazy. Bush gets plastered as a theocon and Obama can get away with opening prayers at public events and dropping Christ’s name w/ no problem. Plus does anyone even remember this Obama ad?

I doubt Gaffney or people like him are a big influence on Obama. They just do themselves a disservice by looking foolish. However, it’s funny that now that the election is over, the President is touting his Muslim background and middle name where you were panned if you mentioned them before Election Day.

    Politics is just crazeee!
